New CEO loves cricket

Microsoft announced their new CEO yesterday, an insider who has been there and lived through all the major operating systems and office releases over the years. Satya Nadella is his name and whilst he did a post graduate degree in the US, he is definitely an Indian from India. Born, schooled and even went to university there, before moving to the US to pursue his studies further. Nadella is only 46, but apart from age, the division that he ran and the direction of Microsoft from here are no doubt going to be much topic of discussion.

For the last two years Nadella has been running the cloud and enterprise division, in the internet age (much faster than before) there is the distinct possibility of moving away from hardware solutions to managing all your information externally. It saves space, backups are automatic and secure and it certainly saves on costs.

No hassles, all you need is a proper internet connection. Bill Gates at the same time, steps aside as chairman (a fellow by the name of John Thompson will assume that role), but becomes no less important to the company, assuming a self explanatory title: founder and technology adviser. For the full release, read here: Satya Nadella. I love that his hobbies are cricket and poetry!
