Microsoft, the good and the bad

Microsoft have two pieces of news this morning, or overnight should I say. Steve Sinofsky, the driver of Windows for Microsoft no longer works there. Parted ways. Fired. Left. All of the above. It says a mutual decision from this NY Times blog: The Leader of Windows Exits Microsoft. What does that tell you about the current Windows 8 release? That is the bad news.

The good news is that Halo 4's opening day (the last 24 hours) grossed 220 million Dollars. Now that is what I call entertainment, the cost to make this was 40 million. Check out the WSJ article: Sales of 'Halo 4' Hit $220 Million. If you wondered if Microsoft still had their mojo, for sure, in a different segment of entertainment. It turns out that the inner marine in us comes out when we get a console and controller. That WSJ article points out that we get to see the new Wii from Nintendo this week, and the ninth instalment of Call of Duty from Activision Blizzard, released today. Wow. Not too sure how good these things are, do you partake in any console related activities? And if so, is it Halo, Call of Duty or more sports related?
