Is this big news? Well, for MTN's sake I hope so. Just as a friend of mine had joined Telkom mobile, he sent an email advising, this MTN SENS announcement spelled out the following:
Shareholders are advised that MTN SA and Telkom have concluded a 5 year national mobile roaming agreement. The agreement will give Telkom access to MTN SA's 2G and 3G networks and is in line with MTN SA's strategy of optimizing the use of its infrastructure. "Through this agreement, MTN SA is able to leverage its already significant investment in its network infrastructure and puts us at the forefront of continued provision of world class communications and connectivity," Phuthuma Nhleko, MTN Group President and CEO, announced.
I presume that Telkom are going to make sure that they don't make the same mistake that they made with Telkom media. MTN? Not Vodacom. Well, I can say that I am happy as big shareholders of MTN.
