Rotten luck. Visa and MasterCard were slapped with a new set of rules, out of the blue really. Limits for both the companies which also included limits on their debit card fees. From the brave senators of course, perhaps they all carry cheque books and are scared of technology. Interestingly Visa and MasterCard hit back and said that this would do little for the consumer and would actually benefit the retailers. No really, back to cheques.
