Facebook recently announced that it plans to pay content creators over $1 billion by the end of 2022. The social media giant will pay creators through a new bonus program designed to encourage creatives to publish their work first on Facebook and Instagram.
The programme will operate on an invitation-only basis for now, and other new options for making more money will be added in time. This initiative came about after Snapchat, YouTube and TikTok announced that they will be investing aggressively in their content creators as well.
This is a great outcome for content creators because they can now diversify their social media portfolios by being on all platforms and not only depend on sponsorship and promotions for revenue. This will help influencers who were splitting their time between traditional jobs and being part-time influencers. Now they can go full-time!
