The Apple Watch was first released in 2015 and it has evolved from being a status symbol watch into a versatile multipurpose smartwatch with improved battery life. According to a recent Bloomberg report, Apple wants to add a tougher version of the Apple Watch.
This new Apple Watch will have better solid casing for athletes, which will allow it to compete with Garmin and Suunto in both being able to withstand extreme conditions and have an even longer battery life while maintaining that cutting edge look.
According to research from Counterpoint, Apple is estimated to have shipped around 33.9 million Apple Watches last year, making them the leader in the smartwatch game by miles. Not bad for a 5-year-old watch company!
The infographic below compares shipments of Apple Watches with other smartwatch makers. Apple is straight up dominating!
