A short note on the Whatsapp milestones, whilst we are talking about such events and progress, Jan Koum, the Whatsapp founder sent his 55th tweet last evening:
What is he talking about? Well, if you recall, Whatsapp went through the 500 million mark (number of registered and active users) in only April of 2014, the 22nd to be exact.
We are now four months and three days later and the number of users has grown an astonishing 100 million in that time.
The number was only 400 million in February this year, the growth might have "slowed" but the number is eye popping. The death of the SMS or text was as a result of this much cheaper service and was thanks to not only the software but the hardware and the infrastructure. Who is laughing at the Whatsapp purchase price by Facebook now?
