Tesla Dominates EV

Clean Technica came out with a report showing electronic vehicle sales in the US for the first half of the year - Tesla dominates. The model 3 is the best selling electric vehicle by miles with over 38 000 cars sold. This is five times the Chevy Bolt and 152 times as many as the ugly BMW i3.

Tesla sold fewer model 3s in the first half of 2020 when compared to the fist half of 2019 where it sold 69 000. Covid-19 contributed to the lower sales but it could also be the newer model Y potentially cannibalising the model 3 sales. Other manufacturers sales were also hit hard by the pandemic, where the Nissan Leaf sales halved when compared to last year.

We are happy to see Tesla dominate like this as it is the only vehicle manufacturer our clients hold. The infographic below shows the best-selling EVs in the first half of 2020.
