Tesla Makes Car 1 Million

Yesterday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted "Congratulations Tesla team on making our 1,000,000th car!!" accompanied by two beautiful pictures. The first picture was of a dazzling red Tesla Model 3, and the second was the Tesla team outside a manufacturing plant, with the same red Tesla Model 3 slap bang in the middle.

This is a great milestone for Tesla and Elon's legacy. A moron called ZAcritic on Twitter replied saying - "History Secured! The 'conman' built 1 million cars, you're supposed to take peoples money and not build any cars, that's how you con people Elon, how can you not understand that?". Huh?

On a more serious note, it has taken Tesla just twelve years to go from producing its first consumer car, the ugly Roadster, to its 1 millionth car. I've previously written a lot about Tesla's ramp up phase which is the outcome of hard work, dedication, a lot of funding, and a coming up with a car design that suits the mass market.

The Model 3 made it possible for Tesla to produce over 365 000 cars last year, which is more cars than the company produced between 2008 and 2017. To quote the Wolf of Wall Street: "Those are rookie numbers in this racket" - Tesla's gotta pump those number up! VW makes over 10 million cars a year.
